What a fire hydrant system includes
- Fire water storage tank sized as per occupancy and hazard
- Fire pump room – main electric pump, diesel standby pump and jockey pump with control panels (how a pump room works)
- Ring main – MS/GI pipe network around the building or campus, underground or above ground
- Yard hydrants with hose boxes, hoses and branch pipes
- Wet risers / downcomers with landing valves on every floor
- First-aid hose reels for occupants
- Fire brigade inlet for the fire tender to boost the system
- Isolation valves, pressure gauges, air release valves and test lines
